Learn About Our Orchard

School Field Trips

We welcome your group to Beasley’s Orchard for a traditional Indiana fall adventure. We will be happy to help you put together a fun and educational tour for your group. You may reach our tour coordinator, Linda, by calling: 317-563-1487 or emailing tours@beasleys-orchard.com.

We require a minimum of 15 paid guests for each tour. Two staff members per class are free after the minimum has been met. All chaperones and tag along siblings pay to attend the tour. Infants up to age 24 months are free.

Be sure to check out the additional activities that can be added to any tour. Whether you choose an apple tour, pumpkin tour, or combination tour, you’re sure to have a memorable day!

Apple Tour - $4 per person

Children, adults, and tag along siblings all pay to attend the tour. Large groups will be divided into groups of about 20.

The tour includes:

  • -information about the farm and how an apple grows (age appropriate)
  • -information about the different varieties of apples
  • -the role of bees in apple production
  • -a demonstration of apple picking equipment
  • -everyone will pick one apple -a visit to the apple storage “garage”
  • -a demonstration of apple sorting and washing equipment in the barn
  • -a snack of a freshly baked sugar cookie and a cup of Beasley’s apple cider
  • -length of tour - 1 hour

Each child should bring a paper sack (like a lunch bag) with their name on the sack.  After picking their apple, the child will put it in their sack and hand it to an adult.  We have found it easiest if the teacher/adult brings a large tote bag and lets the children put their individual sacks in that tote.

Apple Tour with a wagon ride- $7 per person

Children, adults, and tag along siblings all pay to attend the tour.

This includes everything from the apple tour plus a hayride around the orchard.

Length of tour - about 90 minutes

Pumpkin Tour- $5 per person

Children, adults, and tag along siblings all pay to attend the tour.

The pumpkin tour can accommodate large groups. Each wagon can hold about 30 guests.

The tour includes:

  • -information about the farm and how pumpkins grow (age appropriate)
  • -a hayride to the pumpkin patch -everyone picks a pie pumpkin
  • -return to the barn for a snack of a freshly baked sugar cookie and a cup of Beasley’s apple cider
  • -length of tour - 1 hour

Please bring a permanent marker to write each child’s name on the bottom of the pumpkin that they pick.

Combination apple and pumpkin tour - $8 per person

Children, adults, and tag along siblings pay to attend the tour.

This includes everything from the apple and pumpkin tour. Only one snack is served.

Length of tour - about 1 hour 45 minutes
